Diplomats tip Tories to win general election

The Conservatives are likely to win next year’s general election, but victory is by no means certain according to a survey of London’s diplomats.

In a poll conducted by Embassy, 46 per cent tipped the Tories to win the election compared to 16 per cent predicting a Labour victory.

However, a significant proportion (23 per cent) forecast a hung parliament, with a further 15 per cent saying the vote could go either way, with one respondent saying the Conservatives were “too dependent” on their leader.
