New Consular Corps Committee

Mr Georgios Georgiou, Consul General at the Cyprus High Commission, beat off a strong field of candidates to be elected the new President of the Consular Corps.

The announcement was made at a spirited Consular Cruise summer party on the Thames, sponsored by VFS and IDS.

Departing President Bogdan Kolarov was given a huge round of applause for his outstanding leadership of the organisation over the past year.

Mr Georgiou takes over the helm of the organisation as it begins preparations for its milestone 110th anniversary.

Helping him in his task will be three new members of the Committee: Catherine Crutzen (Belgium), who takes over as Treasurer, as well as Olga Jerzjukova (Latvia) and Chaminda Kularatne (Sri Lanka), who will succeed Marie Carlton (Ireland) and Bernard Silver (Seychelles).
