London diplomatic corps remembers Jan Winkler

Diplomats, the Czech Foreign Minister, members of the British Royal Family, WWII veterans and the Czech community in the UK all joined the Mrs Jana Winklerova, daughters Alzbeta and Dagmar and son Peter at the Brompton Oratory to pay their final respects to Czech Ambassador Jan Winkler.

The Apostolic Nuncio, HE Faustino Saint Munoz, delivered the mass and Bishop Alan Hopes, the Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster was the co-celebrant. In a beautiful memorial service, Czech opera singer Vojtech Safarik sung Antonin Dvorak´s Biblical Song, while moving tributes were paid by his daughter Alzbeta, Ambassador Khaled al-Duwaisan, Ambassador of Kuwait and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and HE Karel Schwarzenberg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
