Corps news in brief – Embassy 19 – October 2009

Postal strikes hit embassies

London’s diplomatic missions were forced to rely on email, fax and private courier companies to ensure the delivery of urgent mail.

Speaking to Embassy, one admin attaché said: “We learned our lesson last time around and we made preparations.” Previous industrial action cost embassies thousands of pounds in undelivered mail and missions incurred parking fines while delivering mail in embassy vehicles.
