Soldiers remembered

The forgotten fallen from the Commonwealth who gave their lives in two world wars were commemorated in a solemn ceremony on Commonwealth Day at the Memorial Gates.

Heads of Mission from Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma and Jamaica were joined by Lady Thatcher, Baroness Flather and other dignitaries to remember the eight million Commonwealth soldiers who died fighting for Britain.
