Event Expo attracts record crowds

The second annual Embassy Event Expo attracted record numbers with more than 140 embassy workers from 70 missions attending the exhibition at the historic King’s Fund in Cavendish Square.

Embassy staff heard briefings on official visits from Tony Humphries at the FCO, as well as security advice from the DPG and Jamie Stephen, a top security consultant. Barbara Jamison of Visit London updated envoys on preparations for the Olympics and tips on arranging events in the capital.

Attendees had the opportunity to network with a wide range of suppliers, after which they enjoyed a wine tasting competition, hosted by IDS, and a prize draw, which included luxury hotel stays and a motorsport day from BMW Park Lane.
