Pictures of the Silk Route
With typical Uzbek hospitality, Ambassador Akbarov and his wife Khayrinisa welcomed guests into their Holland Park home for their 17th anniversary of independence. Guests were treated to platefuls of plov (aromatic rice and grilled lamb) and other Silk Route delicacies while viewing an exhibition of photography, tracing the country’s passion for the artform, which dates back to the 1880s.
