Namibian Freedom
In marking 19 years of independence, High Commissioner George Liswaniso thanked those who helped Namibians in their struggle for freedom and asked guests to remember those who had fallen. He reminded guests that challenges still lay ahead for his country, but said much progress had been made since the country’s independence. He concluded by encouraging guests to visit his country to see for themselves. Then, fuelled with prime Namibian beef and fine Windhoek lager, the party really started and Namibians young and old partied until late.
