Tempting Tanzania
A festive Tanzania House, decorated in
the vibrant green, blue, gold and black of the Tanzanian flag, greeted guests as they arrived to congratulate High Commissioner Mwanaidi Maajar and her husband Shariff Maajar on the occasion of Tanzania’s 45th Anniversary of Independence. The High Commissioner reflected on the progress her country had made and the challenges ahead.
While admitting the financial crisis was having an impact on the economy, she said the Tanzanian union remained strong and full of opportunity. As she spoke, scenes from the Serengeti flashed on the widescreen television to tempt guests to visit and see for themselves.
