Solstice celebrations
In magnificent medieval surroundings of Guildhall, the Young Diplomats in London joined the Lesotho High Commissioner, His Royal Highness Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso to celebrate the longest summer’s day with an evening of African music and dance in aid of disabled HIV-AIDS orphans in Lesotho. Soul singer Nthakoana travelled all the way from the mountain kingdom to perform with Keith Waite and his African Quintet against the backdrop of breathtaking scenery from Lesotho. Two lucky guests will experience it in person, one winning an all-expenses trip to Lesotho at the luxury Maliba Lodge, courtesy of the Lesotho Electricity Board, while another bagged a trip to the Malealea Lodge and five days in Gauteng, South Africa, sponsored by Emirates Airlines. Among other prizes, one YDL guest also won an A-list weekend with a His & Hers spa treatment at Urban Skin and a sporty BMW Z4 , sponsored by Embassy Premium Partner BMW Park Lane. Guests toasted the winners with the glass of IDS wine, before heading for the gothic arches of the crypt to dance the night away.
