What better way to toast the start of the diplomatic year with a big Brazilian bash in the imposing Mayfair Residence of the Brazilian Ambassador Augusto Santos Neves. Guests queued to congratulate the Ambassador and his wife Mary, before heading for the terrace garden for pão de queijo (cheese bread), bolinhos de bacalhau (fish cakes), all washed down with a refreshing glass of caipirinha.
