Jamhuri Day
The new High Commissioner for Kenya Ephraim Ngare started his posting in London with a flourish by staging a grand Independence Day celebration at the InterContinental Hotel. Giving the 46th Jamhuri Day address in front a huge screen in the colours of the Kenyan flag, the High Commissioner said Kenyans had been resilient in the face of political crisis and a tough economic climate but he added that new reforms would help Kenyans unite to meet the development challenges of the future.
