The Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Charles Gray proposes a toast to HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej

Royal treatment
The Ambassador of Thailand Kitti Wasinondh and his wife Nutchanart treated guests to a real flavour of Thailand at an elegant reception to mark the birthday of HM King Bhumibol
Adulyadej, Thailand’s much-admired “Father King” and the world’s longest-serving monarch. While sampling some
fine Thai cuisine for which the nation is justly famous, guests could admire photographs taken during Queen Elizabeth’s State Visit in 1972 which adorned the wall of the reception room. In his toast, Ambassador Wasinondh said the photos spoke volumes about the warm relations between the two monarchs and their peoples.
