Ambassasdor McDonagh gives his St Patrick’s Day address
St Patrick’s Day
The St Patrick’s Day celebration at the Embassy of Ireland is one of the most eagerly anticipated parties on the diplomatic calendar and this year was no different. Top-level politicians, journalists and diplomats all gathered at the Irish Residence on Grosvenor Place for a pint or two of Guinness and
a cracking good time. In his St Patrick’s Day address, Ambassador Bobby McDonagh said the occasion helped Ireland’s many diaspora communities “keep the faith” no matter where in the world they were. He also paid tribute to the British and Irish politicians who had never lost faith during the Northern Ireland Peace Process, adding that British-Irish relations had never been better.
