Ambassador Gurbanov explains the tradition of Novruz to guests

New Year feasts
Bright green wheatgrass decorated festivities hosted by the embassies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan as they brought the ancient Central Asian spring festival of Novruz to London. Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov launched proceedings with a reception co-hosted with Lord Fraser of Carmyllie and the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society on the Terrace of the Houses of Parliament. Ambassador Otabek Akbarov followed suit with a Navruz banquet, complete with a spread of traditional foods and a fascinating historical photographic exhibition of Tashkent.
