Easter Banquet
Ambassadors gathered in dazzling formal dress at the stately Mansion House for the annual Lord Mayor’s Easter Banquet. In his address Lord Mayor Nicholas Anstee called for”common purpose and shared resolve” and stressed the need for international cooperation to ensure the global financial crisis is not repeated. And with the elections only a few short weeks away, it was with a hint of regret that Ambassadors listened to what may be David Miliband’s final speech as Foreign Secretary.
