Bravo Bangladesh!
Diplomats, politicians and hundreds of members of the British Bangladeshi community joined High Commissioner Sayeedur Rahman Khan, his wife Quamarun and guest of honour Bangladesh’s Minister of Commerce Muhammad Faruk Khan MP in celebrating Bangladesh’s 39th anniversary of Independence, with a colourful festival of traditional dance, music and curry.
In his Independence Day address, the High Commissioner thanked the diaspora community for creating an enduring cultural bridge between Britain and Bangladesh. He reminded guests of how far the country had come since the the liberation war and said it was now up to succeeding generations to unlock the potential of the country.
