Africa Day 2010
With the first World Cup being staged in Africa, the Africa Day celebrations this year were doubly vibrant. The guest of honour was the newly-appointed Africa Minister Henry Bellingham MP who welcomed the guests, followed by a speech by the High Commissioner for Malawi, which currently holds the Presidency of the AU. Quoting the President Bingu Wa Mutharika of Malawi, the High Commissioner called for the creation of a new world order in which Africa was represented and could fully participate.
