The Ambassador of Kuwait and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps wins a giant teddy
Kids for Kids Ball
London’s diplomats turned out in their finest to the IDS-sponsored Ambassadors’ Ball in aid of the Kids for Kids Charity, which helps vulnerable children in Darfur by providing them with donkeys and goats the 4x4s of the Sahara. In addition to having huge fun, everyone dug deep in the charity raffle and were thrilled when the Dean won a giant teddy bear. Guests also bartered in donkeys and goats in the charity auction to win a range of prizes including dinner at the House of Lords with the charity’s patron, Lord Cope (sold for half a dozen donkeys, or £300) and a McLaren console signed by Formula One champs Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton (which went under the hammer for 45 goats, or £1000). All in all £10,000 was raised for the charity a staggering 200 donkeys or 400 goats.
