Diamond destination
Malta has hit the headlines for an important anniversary – as the romantic second honeymoon destination for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip on their diamond wedding anniversary. The High Commission recently celebrated its own 43rd Anniversary of Independence on 21 September when London's diplomatic corps joined High Commissioner and Mrs Refalo to enjoy Maltese delicacies shipped over for the occasion and, for the first time, sweeping views of London from the High Commission's sixth-floor roof garden. Guests then headed to St James's Church in Piccadilly for a concert of classical music performed by renowned Maltese concert pianist Jennifer Micallef and mezzo-soprano Sophia Grech.
