Commonwealth Day
Taking up the idea that “it takes a woman to teach a village” this year’s theme for Commonwealth Day was ‘Women as Agents of Change’. To promote the theme, Marlborough House was the meeting place for a number formidable women not least HM The Queen, who is the head of the Commonwealth, Trinidad and Tobago’s first woman Prime Minister Kamla Persar Bissessar and a number of outstanding women heads of mission who have been preaching for many years that by investing in young girls and women, you are investing in the social and economic development of a community.
