Kuwait shines at 50
It was a double celebration for the Embassy of Kuwait this year – the Golden Anniversary of the emirate’s independence and the 20th anniversary of the country’s liberation from Iraqi occupation in 1991. So Ambassador Khaled Al Duwaisan, the long-serving Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and his gracious wife Dalal, decided to host not one, but two parties at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel. Throughout the afternoon guests kept coming, from ambassadors to top-level politicians and businessmen, to offer their congratulations and to show their appreciation to the popular diplomatic duo who have fulfilled their duties to London’s diplomatic community with such dedication.
