Arab Spring spirit
With the dust barely settled in Tahrir Square, hundreds of eager guests joined Egyptian Ambassador Seif El Nasr and his wife Nevine at their Mayfair Residence to celebrate Egypt’s National Day. There was a palpable sense of expectation among guests as they listened to the speeches by the Ambassador and guest of honour, FCO Minister Lord Howell of Guildford who said Britain stood ready to help Egypt in the challenging days to come as the country sets about converting the heady spirit of the Arab Spring into a better future for all Egyptians.
