Ambassador Medina-Mora toasts Mexico with Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson
Mexican masterstroke
There was plenty of high-octane excitement at this year’s Mexican National Day and it wasn’t fuelled by the Tequila, either. Rather it was due to the stars of the BBC’s globally popular motoring show, Top Gear, who were invited by Ambassador Medina-Mora to experience Mexican hospitality following the unhappy ‘diplomatic incident’ where they insulted Mexico on their show. It was all smiles as the Ambassador and Jeremy Clarkson toasted Mexico’s independence with Margaritas, a clear sign of detente. Who knows, perhaps there will be a Top Gear episode in Mexico soon? As far as diplomatic masterstrokes go, Ambassador Medina-Mora wins first prize...
