High Commissioner Nicholas gives his Independence Day address
Carnival in Hampstead
High Commissioner Garvin Nicholas and his wife Nicola brought the spirit of the carnival to Hampstead at their Independence Day garden party. In a marquee decorated with carnival costumes, guests sampled a spread of Trini treats including roti, samoosas, geera pork and curried crab, washed down with rum cocktails, while they enjoyed performances of poetry, Calypso music and dance from the Caribbean Indian Dance Company, all showcasing the Island’s multicultural heritage.
