Pandas and peace
China will take the path of peaceful development Chinese Ambassador Mr Liu Xiaoming told guests on the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Britain is an important partner in China’s progress, he added, and said 2012 – the Chinese Year of the Dragon – would be a significant year for both nations as they join to celebrate the 30th Summer Olympics in London and 40 years of full diplomatic relations. To symbolise this, two pandas have arrived in the UK – Tian Tian and Yang Guang as “Ambassadors of China-UK friendship” said the Ambassador.
