Republic Day
On the 93rd anniversary of Latvia’s proclamation as a Republic, Ambassador Eduards Stiprais reminded guests of the role that Britain played in the country’s war of independence and its steadfast support throughout the years of Soviet Occupation – keeping the Latvian Embassy in London open as a constant reminder. The Ambassador toasted the continued cooperation between the two countries as trading nations and as Nato allies fighting side by side in the foreign theatre of Afghanistan.
