Radical reception
Diplomats, artists, writers and politicians all joined the Ambassador of Estonia Mrs Aino Lepik von Wiren and her husband Jorma for a convivial National Day reception to celebrate Estonia’s 94th anniversary of independence, held at the stunning One Whitehall Place, site of the National Liberal Club. The lively discussions were reminiscent of the old “radical” days when the likes of William Gladstone, and later George Bernard Shaw, Winston Churchill and David Lloyd George frequented the grand old club.
