High Commissioner Mabuza reads one of her poems, I Prefer Africa

Poetry and passion
To celebrate the launch of South African High Commissioner Lindiwe Mabuza’s latest anthology of poetry, Footprints and Fingerprints, fellow diplomats and friends enjoyed a reading and a special opera performance from the acclaimed tenor Siphiwo Ntshebe, who sung one of the High Commissioner’s love poems to music composed by Paul Carroll. The High Commissioner dedicated the evening to her good friend and colleague Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner Glenda Morean Phillip. High Commissioner Phillip, who is heading to Washington, said Dr Mabuza “had enriched her life” and thanked her for reconnecting her to the land of her forbears.
