Global market
Every May Kensington Town Hall is transformed into a world souk for the ISS Spring Fair. More than 80 embassies did brisk trade with 4,000 visitors this year, selling everything from Panama hats (from Ecuador) to silks and ceramics from the Silk Road. And after some feverish shopping, visitors retired to the world food market where the Kazakh dumplings were selling like hotcakes. Organiser Elisabeth Young hopes the fair will equal last year's total of £100,000 and all proceeds will help the ISS continue its work in reuniting families torn apart through war, trafficking or migration.
