Awards for brave ambassador
WASHINGTON US Ambassador James McGee has won the Diplomacy for Freedom Award, a human rights award given to a US head of mission for their work to end tyranny and promote democracy in their respective postings. McGee, a Vietnam vet, was honoured for his efforts in exposing human rights violations by Mugabe’s regime before the June elections. Ambassador McGee led convoys of diplomats to rural hotspots to talk with victims of persecution and filmed the violence. |
